In a calm corner of Inokashira, Mitaka, Accep makes choosing a drink to suit your mood part of the pleasure. Its original cocktails include Symbol, combining Calvados with Earl Grey and strawberry, and Milky Way, which pairs dark rum with banana, coffee and cream, finished with black pepper. The menu offers plenty of intriguing combinations. You can also simply describe what you feel like—something refreshing, perhaps, or a little sweeter—and have a drink made to match. It’s an easygoing option even if you’re not sure what to order.

The ganache selection brings some equally distinctive flavours to the table. Miso blends koji miso dissolved in cream with milk chocolate, resulting in a rich, aromatic, sweet-and-savoury taste reminiscent of salted caramel. It was created with salty malt whisky in mind. Porcini, meanwhile, combines cream infused with dried porcini with truffle salt, sage and a hint of mirin. Other options include Wild Black Honey, scented with Drambuie, and Espresso, which leaves a lingering note of dark-roast coffee. Each piece has its own carefully layered aroma.

Accep is open from 20 at night until 4 the following morning, and is closed on Tuesdays. It can suit a drink after work or a stop at 2rd or 3th on an evening out.
